To get started, you must have a destination.
We need to be aware of what we are trying to do, we need to be aware of what we have at our disposal, of what we have for our goals and dreams. I think that goal setting is important because I think we all need to know what we are trying to do. Why am I here…what am I trying to do? Goal setting is absolutely vital to achieving anything. We have to know which direction we are running before we take out first step. Goals need to be specific. A goal without a date is a wish. Without at a date, it takes no effort to set a goal. We have nothing on the line if we just say “one day…some day…eventually I will…”. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I have yet to find the “Oneday” listed on a calendar…anywhere! So, if we are setting a goal, we need to make sure we set a date for us to accomplish it by. Leaders cannot pursue generalities. It’s really hard to get excited about “vauge”. How will we ever know if we are getting closer to our goal if we don’t know what we are trying to do, and when.
